Experiments

This link is a quick animation I did for a targeting system. Its just a start and I won’t use it as I just wanted to get the ball moving. I’m looking into simpler shapes, and clever design solutions like the first link presented.

Talking with Gareth we striped back all the layers in the research to get to the fundamental content and theme (reached dead end with social networking and collaboration). Funnily enough all my research all point to information overload. The whole research shows too much information that I cannot chose which way to go. Yesterday I had a meeting with Eva and Ben in a group meeting and looking at MK12’s interpretation of future interface with touch screen I cooked up an emulation based on Ghost in a Shell and a few designs I remembered from the 90’s. Animating it was quite fun and enjoyable to do rather then seeing it as a static image, and I’ve been waiting to get it out of my system to do:

I’d admit I didn’t get the chance to show another ideas which was a shame, but that would have taken me a few days to do. Looking into simpler shapes and gaining influence from MK12’s focus on how shapes animate together to link up bit of information on a screen, it was a different way of presenting information with how the interface present the information. Then both Ben and Eva mentioned this:

Which I was able to get by asking around.

Reminded me of this (MK12):

I think their fears is me producing something similar to this, so they push to get different results.

Experimenting with various methods that can filter out information (not necessary information that is useless), like cone shaped glasses so you can only see through the holes at the end, to making a sound proof box (human size) void of light. See where this could lead towards making something, there’s a feeling of floating around without any direction, and I would rather have something solid to work and aim towards soon, before its too late.

I abandoned an early idea with creating my own website icon buttons and creating a sea interpretation of buttons, to express the amount of websites in the internet. Here were some of the icons I designed.
