Social experiments

How can I produce some sort of installation to encourage interaction, in a fun and interesting way?

My initial thought on this was to emulate something similar to one of the Orange adverts:

An extention to this idea I would have a model that pieced together (2 become 1) with a typographic image? Or a symbol that is created when they are put together.

Other ideas:

  • Light projection that follows people around in a playful manner (evening time in London).
  • Feed pigeons via a machine.
  • Group of people pretending to have a tag of war aross the road. The aim is to see the reaction of the driver when they haul the rope as the driver gets closer, and then walk away when the driver reacts.
  • Stick a £2 coin on the floor and record peoples reactions round the coin.
  • Some sort of sound box that plays or says something to its viewer. Maybe hook it up so I can hear what they say to it and give a response-via voice manipulator (attraction/reaction).
  • How to create disorder in a grid? Targeted at OCD type people to correct things, is it common or just a few individuals that notice it and actually does something about it?
  • Make a questionaire on what people find attractive, interesting,-narrow it downto simple shapes, colours, sounds, message or litterally anything?
